The following pages indicates only the main line of my family. Send an email or download the GEDCOM file when you are also interested in the collateral lines.
My family came originally from East-Prussia. The area was Bartenstein, Falkenau und Schippenbeil. Collateral lines came also from Sachsen-Anhalt. My Great-Grandfather left East-Prussia against end of the 19. century. Economical problems in East-Prussia and the prospering industry in West-Germany seem to be the reasons. He moved to Berklingen first and after a short time to Schöppenstedt. Both villages are located in the district of Wolfenbüttel. Around 13 miles away of Braunschweig. My father moved because of the marriage with my mother and his job to Braunschweig. Our family lives still in Braunschweig.
The family of my mother came from Cottbus/Brandenburg (Grandfather, Grossler), Königshütte/Silesia (Grandmother, Grzyb) and the rest of the family from Rosenberg/Silesia. The expulsion or rather the refuge out of Silesia brought them to Bremen and Braunschweig.
The family of my wife (Baum, Heinze) came also from Silesia. They came from the area of Waldenburg.
The ancestry report uses 'Ahnentafel' numbering. This means that the numbers for a person's parents will be twice as large as that person's number. For example, if a woman's number is 15, her father will be number 30, and her mother will be 31. Her child will be number 7.
